No shocking result in a game when first rankedAtleticos (15-7) beat 5th ranked Leones (8-14) in San German 84-68 on Friday. The game without a history. San German led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Atleticos dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Leones ' 30. They outrebounded Leones 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Atleticos looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Andre Curbelo (183-2001, college: Southern Miss) nailed a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and American center Montrezl Harrell (203-1994, college: Louisville) accounted for 21 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Darius Bazley (206-2000) came up with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991) added 14 points respectively for Leones in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. San German maintains first place with 15-7 record. Loser Leones keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost.
